"value": "AV:L - The vulnerability is reached through a local ioctl (`F2FS_IOC_START_ATOMIC_WRITE`/`F2FS_IOC_START_ATOMIC_REPLACE`) on a regular file of a mounted f2fs filesystem, with the fault triggered by subsequent local inode eviction. No network or physical access is involved.\nAC:L - The state is set up deterministically by a single ioctl, and the attacker controls the remaining condition — forcing eviction of an nlink>0 inode via inode-cache/memory pressure or umount is routine and attacker-inducible; syzbot produced a C reproducer. No race must be won and no uncontrollable memory layout is required.\nPR:L - `f2fs_ioc_start_atomic_write()` only checks `inode_owner_or_capable()`, so an ordinary unprivileged local user (e.g. any Android app operating on its own files under the f2fs `/data` mount) suffices. No CAP_* capability or root is needed.\nUI:N - The attacker performs every step itself — opening its own file, issuing the ioctl, and driving inode reclaim — with no action by any other user. On Android/embedded systems the f2fs data volume is already mounted, so no victim-initiated mount is required.\nS:U - The corruption and crash are confined to the kernel's own memory and the f2fs superblock's dirty-inode list, within the same security authority. No VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.\nC:H - The freed `f2fs_inode_info` remains linked in the global `sbi->inode_list[DIRTY_META]`, and `f2fs_sync_inode_meta()` later dereferences it via `list_first_entry()`/`igrab()`/`sync_inode_metadata()`, reading freed slab memory that the attacker can reclaim and groom with f2fs inodes — a use-after-free read primitive on kernel memory.\nI:H - The same use-after-free gives write access to the freed object — `igrab()` writes `i_count`/`i_lock` into it and `f2fs_inode_synced()` performs a `list_del_init()` unlink on attacker-reclaimable memory, yielding a classic pointer-write primitive exploitable for control-flow hijacking; on-disk metadata is additionally left inconsistent (`SBI_NEED_FSCK`).\nA:H - With `CONFIG_F2FS_CHECK_FS` the `f2fs_bug_on()` at fs/f2fs/inode.c:869 is a hard `BUG_ON` causing an immediate kernel panic (the reported syzbot crash), and in default builds the leaked `F2FS_DIRTY_IMETA` count makes `block_operations()` loop forever so every checkpoint/fsync/sync/umount hangs, plus the use-after-free itself crashes the kernel."
